“I’ve learned to be blind and therefore I can help people understand things like being patient, learning to be detail oriented and learning to listen amongst many other things.”

I’m so excited to be starting my blog! It has been a long time overdue and comes with much thought to finally decide to bite the bullet. In case you don’t already know, I am a blind real estate broker running my own business. That isn’t something you hear every day, so by writing this blog I’d like to keep the public informed and educated on what it’s like to live a normal life blind and to help people understand how to treat others with respect.
My blog will consist of several different entries that show I can be helpful and useful as a real estate agent by sharing my knowledge and expertise. More than that though, I want to share and explain that even though I’m now blind some of my talents are even better than before because I’ve learned to be blind and therefore I can help people understand things like being patient, learning to be detail oriented and learning to listen amongst many other things. I may be blind but my name is still Tina Leonard. I’m so excited to start writing this blog to share the journey I have been on since I started losing my site eight years ago. It’s been a roller coaster and I’ve had to jump many hurdles but I’ve done it and I’ve opened my own real estate office and feel that I have a very successful business and I would like to share my journey with others to empower them and help them understand that it is acceptable to be blind in our society.
I knew I wanted to share my story but I’ve been trying to figure out how to best share it. Should I do a podcast? Maybe some kind of a Facebook live feed weekly? Or perhaps I should think about writing a book at some point! For now let’s start with a blog and see how it evolves! I have spoken in controlled environments to share my journey with the local Lions Club and Rotary Club to explain how people don’t really know how to treat a blind person, but it is time to take it out into a bigger forum. So join me on my blog writing adventure as I navigate yet another new task and share with you how it is to be blind and to run a business.
